Maths - Handling Data 2

The kids had a worksheet in which they sorted big and small, striped and spotted (or were they plain?) fish.

Here's a very simple sorting online activity 

Even better - here's a free demo of some software that helps kids with the concept of sorting according to different criteria.  It's very suitable for visual learners.

Firstly, choose how many Furbles you want to sort and their shapes, colours and number of eyes.









Then select the table or bar chart icon at the bottom to sort the Furbles...
and then choose the sorting criteria to and click on the tick icon.

As we've been playing with this we've been doing a lot of estimating about how big a group would be.  So it's a really nice review of estimating too which Gabi says they did in class last week.
